I have found links to a graphic of all the medals; but I still can't find a link to what the requirements are for each one. Although some are self explanatory, such as the number of games won. Some however are sort of cryptic, such as the "racial victory" are not.

Dang my sword got messed up;o) From the Desk of Sugien CSK _____/} @###{ ]::::::Cyber Striker Knight::::::> ~~~~;\}
Get rid of the spies!! Seriously though, how about giving DL the same awesome graphics that DA has? I like everything about DA *except* for the way the spies work. How about a feature allowing either turning off the spies, or reverting them back to the way they were in DL? I am a *very* new player, and I was just getting use to and better at DL when I discovered that I was playing a game that was over a year old (Dang Wal-Mart had GalCivII on the new releases shelf. I have only be
This is about the only computer game I play, unless of course you count Chess Master, or a few card games (I don't play solitare however). I likewise build computers, or I should say I use to. I quit both building them for others and fixing them; because it got to be too much. I did teach my cousin enough that he was able to open up his own PC repair shop here in my small hometown. He had went to the local university branch for a pre-A+ certification; but after finishing it, he ask m
Quixen, have you ever played an old BBS game called BRE (Baron Realms Elete)? It is sort of like DA and DL; but text based. I use to play it on my own BBS and other local BBS's. I ran my BBS as part of FidoNet, and had the BBS on an old C=128 running in 64 mode with a whopping (for the times) 20Mb Lt. Kernal HD. I loved my old C=64, and it took some persuading and giving me a free 8088 IBM pc to get me to chang over ot pc's
So, I see your playing the Metaverse. Have you joined an empire as of yet? I know there are quite a few players in "our" age bracket who are registered users over at The Galactic Core. I forgot to mention that I am the only one in my empire and it is ranked at 186; but I don't know if that is good or not?
I tried to get my nephews to play, they are big into computer games. I even bought 2 copies and gave them away. They played for a few weeks, complained they could not beat it, and gave it up. I even tried to help, they wanted none of it. Not enough satisfaction for them I guess. So, I see your playing the Metaverse. Have you joined an empire as of yet? Well if they still have the games and don't want or use them, I know a couple of players
I would like to be able to say something like "Move them or LOOSE them!" The AI of course would need to understand when it is being threatned and when it is just being asked:o)
Being former Military myself I can see where you were coming from on both counts. I came into this game late; because I only started playing on the 17th of March; but I have been playing every day pretty much all day/night with very little sleep. I don't think I am doing to bad considering how short a time I have been playing. In my info it says that I joined back in 2004; but that was just joining Stardock to download some of their free win tweak
Also, I'd like an option to tell other civilizations to get their ships out of my territory. This is by far the one feature I would REALLY like to see implemented. Even if we got nothing else (except any issues/bugs fixed of course) but this feature I would be extremely satisfied. Strange how it was never put into the game in the first place. Yep I agree, along with some others; but I understand why the developers
I think this medal appeals to a certain segment of folks that feels it makes a statement. I think if earned appropriately the medal has value, if not then it doesn't. This really is not that different from any other medal. Well although I was suppose to get a *real* Purple Heart; because of being in a jeep accident while in a war zone when I was posted to Camp Holloway in Pleiku Vietnam. At the time I refused it; because the jeep wreak was not pa
Retires don't count for the purple heart. You gotta take your lumps, you can't just give up and expect to be rewarded Ah, ok, well I did post 3 military defeats; but unless the purple heart is going to show up, I don't see any reason to post defeats, do you?
Please install 'SmartException' from the free stuff section in Stardock Central. Make sure that SE is running and start your game as normal. If the game crashes it will generate an exception report that can be emailed to [email protected]. It happned again on a new game wich I was about to win. Good thing I did as you suggested; because when it crashed (I was *not* running anything with DL), I did as it said and sent in the zip. I hope it is enough information

Include with the email a description of what you were doing at the time, how to reproduce the crash if possible, and a zipped save if applicable when you send an SE log to gc2bugs. The devs cannot
Then don't have Internet Explorer running while playing the game. I don't think you are hearing what I am saying:) I was *not* running IE in the background. In fact the only thing running was DL; but when it crashed out the IE send error report poped up. I thing GC2 when you are using the metaverse must run IE in the background as part of the metaverse. The game must use some sort of ActiveX control as part of the ability to run the me
Hmmm, I posted 7 defeats and the purple heart didn't show up any where, not in here or in the game. Maybe they did away with it all together? I am however fast aproaching my 20th win:o)
IE crashed and came up on the "do you want to send in an error report" box then I hit the debug to get the extended errors. Of course it sounds like a windows error box seeing how tightly IE is melded into windows.
I also hit the debug and it came up with: Name Value this CXX0017: Error: symbol "this" not found
I didn't alt tab, I was playing and it *crashed*, iow, while I was playing, it crashed and then showed the IE error box. It just happned again just now and this time I copied the info in the little error reporting box that MS wants you to send in the error to them. It said: C:\DOCUME~1\XXXXXX\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER1766.dir00\GalCiv2.exe.mdmp C:\DOCUME~1\XXXXXX\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER1766.dir00\appcompat.txt (in the above there weren't any actual x's I replaced my RL name with the X's)<br
It is getting more and more regular that my IE version 7.0.5730.11 crashes out DL and then asks me if I want to send an error report. I then have to re-boot DL. I can do a screen capture of it the next time it does it, if it will be helpfull for the tec's that address the bugs. Just let me know; because I sure like the game; but it crashing several times durring a long game is getting frustrating.
The think he was asking why *his* medals didn't show up, I could be mistaken but I think that is the case
Why doesn't mine show up? Did you log onto the metavers and then come to the web sit that way? Or did you arive from a link from some where? I think you have to be loged in. I dont' know how or if I did anything, I just noticed that after posting my first win they showed up
[quote]Sugien, if you would like to know what the various medals mean, follow this link: http://metaverse.galciv2.com/index.aspx?g=legend Unfortunately, Stardock has never bothered to define what their 'achievement levels' mean. Level two is five games won, by the graphic, but there is no easy way to know what the others are. The next one very well could be ten games won. Who knows? The only way to be sure is to search every post on these forums, look for a medal you don't recognize, 'mouse over
Oh well if not I will just shoot for the 20 game one;o) I only have about 8 or nine to go, lol
Talk about old acounts, when I installed DA, and went to get the updates from star dock and then loged onto my account here to make my empire, it said that I had been a member since 2004, then I remembered that I had regestered with Stardock some years ago for some of their free desktop tweaking utilities. I wonder if some people think if and when they look at my profile think that I have been playing this for years when I have only been playing since the 17th
