Icons screwed during uninstallation!
Uninstaller clearly has serious issues!

I downloaded the most recent Icon Packager evaluation version yesterday, and it totally messed up my icons when uninstalling. It reset all icons to the OS default, and I had to manually restore them. Some, like ZIP icons wouldn't restore properly unless I reinstalled the associated application, in this case, WinZip.
For the record, I don't use any other StarDock software, nor will I ever. The only thing I did with this application after installation was preview a couple icon packs. I didn't change a single configuration or windows setting. I simply installed the app. Previewed a couple icon packs. Reboot. Uninstalled the app.
Also, during uninstallation, I received a convoluted message regarding Windows Explorer being configured to run using multiple threads, and how that was a bad thing. What the hell is up with that? Never has any application I have used had a problem with that, and I've been using multiple threads for explorer for years.
Anyhow, after manually restoring most of my icons (my computer, recycle bin, etc), I stupidly decided to reinstall Icon Packager with explorer threads fully disabled, with the hopes that it would somehow restore the remaining icons. Seeing as how the "windows default" icons at the top of the icon window aren't the icons I'm currently using, I can assume that the application isn't smart enough to SIMPLY NOT CHANGE ANYTHING when it's not told to.
So, during the second uninstall, the uninstaller application gave me a very generic error, and told me that it would have to close. Regardless, the uninstaller still seemed to be operational. After the error message OKAY button was clicked, the window went away, but the uninstall window was still there. I cancelled uninstallation manually.
My desktop went crazy and eventually ended up displaying the typical "Active Desktop" error that provides a button to restore the desktop to the previous state. Sadly, pressing the button did nothing. Rebooting the system did not help, as the desktop error reappeared after boot.
When I attempted to uninstall the application again, the installer error kept appearing, and the application entry wouldn't disappear from the "Currently installed programs" list. The installation was apparently screwed.
I REINSTALLED Icon Packager a THIRD time, and then directly uninstalled. Finally that horrible piece of code is off my system, and I'm left with a complete set of screwed up ICONS.
I use the STANDARD WinXP GUI. I have never used or installed any GUI or shell replacement like WindowBlinds or StarDock. The only customizations I have made have been changing the icons via the "Display Properties" -> "Customize Desktop" panel.
Thanks!
It would be nice if you TOLD US that you're releasing BETA SOFTWARE.
