Windows Vista

how to download beta

where would you go to download the windows vista beta version? I see a lot of people have downloaded the demo, but where can I get it myself?

It's not a 'demo,' but rather released to developers only. Downloading it would mean it's a pirated and most likely illegal copy. Unless you are developing software for Vista, I don't really see the point in getting it, since it isn't completely stable and there are numerous bugs in it.

I have a MSDN Universal Subscription. I have Vista and installed it (and a couple of weeks later uninstalled it). I really tried to use it but it was very NOT good.

Over all, I like the look of it but I found performance to be a real issue. I have a pretty decent system: P4 2.0 overclocked to I don't know what, a gig of ddr mem, 128 mb video card and more hard disk that I really need. I do like the new nested explorer windows though. If the rest of it didn't suck so bad I would have kept it for that feature alone.

end user [poeple like us] release is scheduled for the end of march [beta also] so any thing download MSDN right now is going to be a developer version like citizen adamness said so so it going to run poorly since it is still missing part's at this time [i also have MSDN SUB.] that's why i did not download it myself it is like trying to test drive a sports car that is missing engine parts

I wouldn't install Vista until a few months after it comes out, if I install it at all. Although, I might be just a bit paranoid.
