Can I email a widget?

Is this possible

I am wondering how or if I can email a widget or object. I have desktopx downloaded - I am thinking it would have to come from creating one. If someone could teach me a very simple one that would be great. :d

They can be emailed, but Windows will flag it as a bug. Any .exe program is. To get around it you need to have the widget moved to your desktop where you can right click it and go to properties. Then "unblock" it. You need to do that before you ever attempt to open it, or you will not be able to get the file to your desktop.

Any file can be emailed. But different mail providers may block certain files in case they contain virii.

As for simple widgets, the best bet might be to find one in the libraries you like and download it to deconstruct and rebuild to your tastes.

If you have DX, you can click on "Documentation" on the welcome screen and get some good stuff (developer's guide).

does the recipient have to have desktopx to run the widget?

Yes. Unless you have the Pro version of DX and export it as a gadget. A gadget has the DX runtime built into it.
