Hi, I would like to get the expansion pack, but I've heard nasty rumours about what Stardock Central can do to your computer once you have signed up eg they gain access to your computer and can even damage your computer or delete its memory through any carelessness or whatever from them. I would just like to know if there is any truth to any of this or is there anything else I should know before I go ahead and sign up?

Dumpers, don't believe everything you read.I work as a network engineer and allowing anyone into your computer can be dangerous.You really aught to know who you download from and when you do download,virus scan the file before doing anything with it.If a virus is picked up then delete it.

As far as people getting in,it is usually into a machine that doesn't have the latest operating system patches installed or have put whats known as a backdoor(trojan) into your system.If you do virus scans regularly then you shouldn't worry to much about this.Nortons picks these up and will quarantine them for you.If you use XP home edition make sure you turn off remote desktop services as I know how to backdoor systems that leave this feature on and I'm not considered a hacker like some.

Just be careful and always scan anything you download from the internet before opening and 99% of problems will not happen.The other 1% is usually a new progamming hole that was just discovered and no one knows about yet except hackers.

Go ahead and download and enjoy the game.

Ps Would love to have you join our new empire called PanGaea Cooperative.I dont mind helping new players learn to play.I too had to learn but now game is really pretty easy except maso. :HOT:

Thanks for your reply and your friendly advice Eradicus, I will go and download the file now and sign up for Stardock Central.

Also, thanks for your offer about PanGaea Cooperative, I'll have to have a look at that!
