I've travelled as far as Tasmania and live there...bit further South soon, moving from Launceston in thr North to Hobart.

If a viscious dog savages and bites a politicians leg (stupid dog in the first place)(food poisoning)...do you (A) Call Animal Control to have the animal removed, etc? (B) Call the animal cruelty people? Or (C) Let the dog enjoy possibly his meal?

I do. It's one of the priviledges that far too many take for granted. It's great to have freedom of speech, but if you have the right to vote and don't exercise that right, you don't have the right to complain about anything political.
