crashing runtime error

from GalCiv2 Forums
i downloaded the updates today and my saved games wouldn't load. then i tried a new game and it would crash in the first turn over and over. i reinstalled, and now it won't even load. it says it had a runtime error and it was terminated in an unusual way. anyone else had this problem???

Saved games aren't usually compatible from one beta release to the next. I always erase mine when upgrading.

ok... i've only had the late 4 beta and 5 and even i knew to delete saved games... anywho its just the update. sorry. im sure ur empire was vast and powerful but its gone for all of time and will never eaxctly be recreated.ever. look at this way. you can start over now with new updates and stuff.

did you guys read the rest??? i don't care about the save games, i want to play a game. any game on galciv2. i was giving details to aid in troubleshooting the runtime error. all i know is the now i have paid for a game that doesn't work at all now.
