Beta 5: Low on virtual memory

Playing on a huge map with 5 other major races and a lot of minor races I've been having popups telling me I'm low on virtual memory.
I'm running 1gig of ram a pentium4 3.4ghz HT chip, nvidia 7800 GT card and 300gig HDD.
At the moment my virtual memory is set at 1750mb. This particular game has shutdown 7 times now with in 4-5 turns of the last auto save.

play the game with the task manager open to see how much memory is being used by each application.

I've done that after the third freeze. The application GalCiv2.exe was using 2.5gigs of memory.

If the crash is reproducible from the save game, please send it to [email protected] with a description of the error. However, if you keep getting messages about low virtual memory, you will probably want to reboot after a crash.
