Ever since I uninstalled WB4 and install WB5 I've noticed that I'm seeing two instances of WB in my system tray at startup. One of them pops up a tooltip that says a new skin "" has been installed, blah blah. After I close the tooltip and hover my mouse over the icon, it disappears. I think it's a remnant of WB4 since I had an issue when installing WB5 (it prompted me to uninstall WB4, then after it uninstalled it told me to reboot, so I said yes, then it started installing WB5 while rebooting). When I checked the msconfig it still has wbload.exe set to load at startup, I read that WB5 doesn't use it anymore. Could that be what it is? If so, could I disable it from startup without affecting WB5 loading or is there another issue causing it?

wbload isn't used in WB5. It doesn't rely on it anymore. It uses the OS theme engine. Does wbload.exe appear in the Processes tab on the Task Manager window? If so, it might be the remnants of a previous version. wbload.exe shouldn't be present in the Processes window. But I might be wrong on that...could someone confirm or deny that? So I don't make a complete prat of myself.

I believe wbload.exe is still used for applying older version 4 skins that use "wbload.exe" to apply the skin.
I have WB5 installed on a clean install of OS on 2 machines, and did not install WB4 - and "wbload.exe" is in the WindowBlinds sub-directory.
You could try unloading WB > restore Windows to default XP theme > reboot > load one of the pre-packaged skins that came with WB5 (5imple-alpha, Aura, DogmaX) to see if "wbload.exe" starts. If so, you have something going sideways and may want to save skin folders to temp folder > uninstall WB completely > reinstall WB5 only > replace skin folders > start WB5 and click "Rebuild List".
