SDC Problem

Failed to update account information

Hello,

I recently bought WB5, which is running fine. Now I installed Stardock Central, but when I try to login into my stardock.net account I always receive the "failed to update account information" error.

I doublechecked my stardock.net account info, no typo, nothing, but it doesn't work.

My router firewall is properly configured (btw, which port is SDC using?), no proxy present, no programs like Proxomitron.

There was a similiar thread not long ago, but the only advice given there was to e-mail the "login.txt" to stardock (which, apparently, didn't solve the problem anyway). Unfortunately I don't have a login.txt in my SDC program folder.

So what can I do? Sure, I can live without SDC, but I'd like to get it to work! Please help!

Okay, I found a workaround:
I have to start SDC and ignore the first login window that pops up. Then, in SDC, I have to disable the "Work Offline" option, and voilá - the login is successful.

After the first successful login I found indeed a login.txt in my stardock program directory, but there is no error reported in there (which makes sense, since it was created after the login succeeded, but not before when it failed).

Strange, but at least it works somehow.
