Dumb Transparency Question

I have a Fujitsu notebook with proprietary ATI drivers which support constant alpha blending but not per-pixel. With WB5, Taskbar and Please Wait dialog transparency works fine but window border/Titlebar transparency does not (the Titlebar and borders are opaque, presumably because they are per-pixel borders which my drivers don't support - Doh). What's different about the Taskbar and Please Wait dialogs that they don't need per-pixel to be transparent?

I said it was a dumb question.

Thanks,
Daiwa

With the other parts WB can fall back to software without any noticable impact (as afterall they don't move, size, repaint often).

We are looking into if we should allow you to override the check and live with the higher cpu usage & much worse window dragging, sizing speeds etc.

Thanks, Neil.

I'm also considering trying Patje's Mod Tool again (there's a new version) to see if I can get Cats that support per-pixel installed on my rig (it's an IGP 340M but Patje's previous versions failed to get around whatever defenses Fujitsu built in). Is there likely to be a hardware issue that would make that a waste of time? Would the hardware be the reason the rig doesn't support per-pixel in the first place?
