WB5: Two questions that effects everyone

Sorry if this is a repost

One, if WB5 uses directx now in order to use alpha blending etc. . .will it have any effect on game performance?

Two, WB5 is a huge improvement for Windows XP. Nor do I see machine performance suffer. However, might it be far less impressive with Windows Vista because these and more gui enhancements are part of the OS? So my question is, why should i spend 20 dollars now? I don't want to make the switch to Windows Vista and be disapointed in WindowBlinds.

I am very tempted to buy it right now, but just wanted to see what people thought.

1. I don't game
2. I find the effects maybe more impressive since it doesn't take an OS to achieve it and cost far less.
3. I got no say in how you spend your money.

Sorry, none of the 3 questions affect me.

Game performance is not affected. You're not drawing per-pixel window borders and effects when you are gaming, so why would it affect performance? Why would 20 be a waste? You will be able to use Windowblinds with Vista when it comes out. Get Windowblinds, it's worth it, I say that wholeheartedly.

You will feel that your games will run FASTER due to the reasin that WB 5 runs as a native XP service instead of a process like WB4.xx.

Skinning Vista is the major aim of WB 5. Just feel how bative WB is to Vista in terms of alpha-bending and transluancy. And for your informatio, SD has released a tweaking application for vista names as "Style Vista" through which you can set the transluancy of Vista toolbars and windows borders. So expect new vistas of customization with the release of Windows Vista ... !!!

that should have absolutely no effect whatsoever on the performance aspect of things. it's just smoke and mirrors to shut up the stylexp fanboys. it does stand to reason that your games might run slower if you have a bunch of programs open in the background, but that would probably slow them down anyway.

well, considering it does it all on XP, it can't be very native to vista.

So expect new vistas of customization with the release of Windows Vista

i'm sure this is true. we'll just have to wait and see what they come up with.

For a whilem Let's forget that I am using WindowBlinds and I am going to purchase StyleXp and before purchasing I try it (as customer I have the right to try before I buy) and results say:

- StyleXP is a parasite. It does not have its own skinning engine. All it does is to patch Uxtheme.dll

- StyleXP has not been licensed from Microsoft. .msstyle and Uxtheme.dll are properties of Mircrosoft so if one wants to alter them, he should get permission from Microsoft and put the desclaimer with product. I don't see the permission from MS anywhere ... So StyleXP is an illegal product and nothing but a mere crack

- StyleXP themes are the other name of Spyware. Downloading themes and other stuff available at stylexp's skinning site is dangerous and riky. There's a risk of infecting your computer with malicious files. They have OFFICIALY declaired that you are going to install spyware and advertisement program(s) if you install the theme. So how CAN I trust in them

Fake Customization. It doesn't change all windows visual, sometimes it just input images and other enginee to look like a diferent style that windows does not suport.....

and list goes on and on and on ... How can I put my system on risk by installing StyleXP ... ????

My thoughts are that you would gain better perfromance in gaming by using a different Identity, or user profile with no other apps running. I've always gamed like this.

And when it comes to StyleXP...well, I just won't go there. I got all kinds of nasties everytime I tried one. One more reason I switched to WB.

It's running as a dll, and not an exe.
