Nothing is clear but...

I just downloaded and activated my brand new WB5. I was under the impression that everything would be clear, but the only thing with the clear effect is the "Please Wait", the toolbar, and the start menu. I am currently using "Vista XP" theme and none of the window frames or explorer toolbars are clear. What is going on? Am I doing something wrong?

not sure why. if every skin had everything clear, they would all look alike. the only parts that would be clear would be the parts the skinners wanted clear.

which 'Vista XP'? I'm just looking at Kol's Vista XP screenshot and only Glass seems to have transparency and in no way indicates the explorer toolbar would be clear.

In WindowBlinds, look at the menu in left-hand column. At the bottom, click System Information. The list should include information about your graphics capability. Make sure that Per Pixel Alpha Blending
1) is supported on your system
2) if so, that it is turned on

For example, mine says:

Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

This is because :

Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha. WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor. Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware. Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature. Onboard graphics tend not to.

I can see some clear features, such as those on the Start menu & Message boxes, but not others, such as the translucent Taskbar & Window borders. For me, WB5 is an improvement in quality, even without per-pixel alpha blending
...but I can't wait till someday, when I can upgrade my system
