Windows do not maximize properly in WB5 final?

If I purchase the full version, will it fix this problem?

I am using the public shareware release of WB5 and some skins do not let you maximize windows properly - ie. you can still see the side and bottom borders, as if the window is not maximized. I believe that the earlier WB5 beta releases did not exhibit this behaviour, so... can someone who has got the full registered version of WB5, or someone who works for Stardock, please confirm whether or not the full paid-for version will let me maximize windows properly please? Thanks.

Here are two screenshots to demonstrate what I mean, in case it isn't clear from my description.

By the way, at the time of writing, when you click to purchase WB5 it takes you to the page to purchase Windowblinds 4.x - is this an oversight perhaps.

Looks like the skins have set the maxbordercut values to 0.  This stops any border from going outside of the screen.

If you open the skin uis file & look for MaxBorderCut then you should be able to remove those settings & reapply the skin & all should be as you like.

I tried that and it made a difference but it still doesn't look properly maximized - just slightly more so.

One of the skins in the screenshots I linked to above, is included by Stardock so I would have thought those ones would have been checked for such problems?

Also how come this problem was not apparent with the betas of WB5 - eg. with Mike Bryant's Arrow skin, and KoL's VistaXP skin - those are the two skins which I expect are the reason most people want to purchase WB5 As it stands, it looks like they won't work properly? Unless, as I say, the full enhanced version behaves differently to the free shareware trial version.

By the way, just to prove the maximizing doesn't work (even when I removed the maxbordercut lines) if I maximize a window (Internet Explorer for example) and then double click on the far-right of the screen, the window restores and gets smaller. When the window is properly maximized, you can't do that.

Neil... you told me that per pixel skins wouldn't respect the maxbordercut/screen edge clip settings...... is that no longer true. Personally I'll be tickled pink if that's so............ losing the borders/frames when maxed just looks horrid to me.

Koasati: We are talking about non per pixel skins.  Per pixel do not & will not support this.

me me2: 1) this is not an issue with per pixel skins like Arrow & VistaXP as WB automatically clips the entire borders on maximize.  Some people like Koasati actually dislike this, thus proving you can't make everyone happy!

2) if the borders are larger than 4 pixels then the max border cut values have to be set to however much should be cut off or only 4 pixels are cut off.  This is not a bug, this is by design as the amount to be clipped is a skin author decision.

Those two skins do not maximize properly with the shareware version of WB5. I am loathe to purchase the paid version unless you can confirm they will work properly with that version. What I'm asking isn't anything unusual, I just want windows to maximize the way that Windows itself does it - ie. giving maximum screen real estate and no possibility of accidentally 'restoring' the window by clicking on the edges.

In the shareware version they do not support per pixel, hence they are using the maxbordercut features.

For non perpixel skins the maxbordercut values would have to be set to the correct number of pixels.

Okay I just bought and installed WB5 enhanced and it works properly - maximizing windows with Arrow and VistaXP works. Nice job, thanks for making this great software.

The shareware version can be downloaded from download.com

The registered version can be downloaded from Stardock after paying $20 for WB, or $49.95 for an OD subscription.
