Thanks MM. It is a strange situation to say the least. Knowing that my grandmother isn't going to come home from the hospital except to be in her own funeral is just not what you want to think about, and yet... she has lived a long life and what has happened isn't that unexpected.
We all get older, and eventually we leave this rock. Hopefully we leave it a better place, and leave to a better place. I think that will be the case for my grandmother, and for that I am thankful.
It will also be nice to see my aunt and uncle again, as they did make the journey up for the holiday. They were planning to do that anyway, and it seems that things changed enough with my grandmothers condition that she was at least responsive to people that were around her, so it would seem she at least knew that her visitors were there and cared about her.
In anycase, again, I hope everyone has a great one, and hope it's a safe one for those that are travelling to and fro.
Oh, and in the spirit of one of your recent articles MM, I'm definitely gonna be killin' me some turkey, or at least chowin' down on some that was killed by a slaughterhouse somewhere so that it could find it's way to the family table. Bring on the triptofan (however you spell that word) and the post turkey dinner lazy feelings while watching (hopefully) the Cowboys lose today (despite what my Aunt from Texas may want).
