Can you deselect the type of victories

Can you deselect cultural and military and just go to technological? If you can how you do it? In the game it doesnot let you to disable any type of victories.

Yes, there is a way to do it. It's not currently built into the game, though.

1) Using your favorite text editor, open up the file prefs.ini which is located in C:\YourPathToGC2\Data\prefs.ini
2) Scroll down to the section [GalaxySetup]
3) Modify any of the following: (1 = turned on, 0 = turned off)
CulturalVictory=1
TechVictory=1
AlliedVictory=1
AITechVictory=1


NOTE: There is no way to turn off "military victory".

Also note, as long as any one of the other civs has one planet you can avoid a military victory.

Has anyone had a victory other than military as yet? Is there code support for the other victories? I have seen posts here that sound like at least the cultural victory support code isn't in the game as yet.

The victory conditions displayed in the startup screens will have code to toggle them on or off in a later build (per Cari).

Well I had a cultural victory playing at cakewalk level on the custom map.

Its more that the cultural victory sometimes seems to fail to trigger properly than it not being possible.
