God's wrath over ID??

I saw Link. Apparently Pat Robertson's god is going to smite the town over Intelligent Design.
Some quotes:
if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city,"
"And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because he might not be there,"

Regardless of what you feel about ID and the like, I think it Mr Robertson's comments are completely horrible and shows that he's so caught up in the politics of religion that he's lost track of the message, the meaning, and the soul of religion.

You should remember that Pat Robertson's God is "made in [Pat Robertson's] image, according to [his] likeness". Once you understand that, what he says no longer seems outrageous, merely deluded and sad...

Given Pat's history of religious bigotry, is anyone really surprised by this comment? I'd think not.

Good points, both of you. I guess i"m not really surprised that he said it, just that there isn't more outrage about it.
It's almost like people are going "You know.. he might be right" or
"I voted against them in the election and God is smiting me by burning my toast this morning"

I guess Pat Robertson understands rejecting God. He rejected God for fame and money a long time ago.

He has serious reality-touching issues. He doesn't seem to be in touch with reality or how things really work.
