Yep! It has finally happened! The Japanese have developed a remote control for humans! Placed over the head, the device allows the person to be controlled from a Joy Stick!
Called galvanic vestibular stimulation, and it relies on an idiosyncrasy of humans and electrical currents around the ears. I am sure Neurologists could explain it scientifically, but I will trust the authors word in this case (he was the Guinea pig). While NTT sees the application being Video games, I see it becoming abused easily and early. Mr. E. Nigma's invention comes to mind (Batman and Robin). Indeed, some are already opining that if the field can be projected, it could be used as a weapon, much the way a Taser now is (to immobilize, not kill).
It is a brave new world we live in, and the genie is not going back into the bottle anytime soon.
