A seemingly innocent news article today reveals the passing of an institution.  The US Military is sending the only remaining MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) to Pakistan to help with the Earthqake.  The 212 MASH.  The LAST ONE.  It seems that the army has come up with a new animal called a CASH (uh, oh!).  They say that the Combat Army Surgical Hospitals are more responsive than the MASH.  From the results in Iraq, I guess they are right.

But for those of us who lived through the Movie and Episodes of M*A*S*H, it is kind of sad to see that icon being retired.  I guess the Army just could not tolerate the hi-jinks of Hawkeye, BJ and Trapper John any longer.

Farewell, so long, good bye.

Benny Hill is not considered one of the best here. He was merely good for exports because even the Germans got his "humour".

To be honest, this myth is probably due to three major facts:

1. Americans do not know any German or Italian comedies (the two countries form a cultural region). I personally find Italo-German movie hilarious.

2. Because of World War II European Jews lost their former German identity. (Woody Allen and the Marx Brothers were of German stock, so to speak.)

3. Germans are not funny.

it was a Joke son, I say a joke.  Having lived in Germany for a couple of years, I understand their sense of humor a lot better than the British one.

At least they dont idolize Jerry Lewis.

Just learned that Col Flag (Edwin Winter), the Colonel you loved to hate that was in the CIA, or the OSS, or Military Intelligence, died.  I know it was not recent, but another one bites the dust.
