Sorry for the absence

Okay, this is gonna be really short, and isn't really of much value. But, I know I have a few friends who stop by once in a while, and they've probably wondered if I've died or something. Not quite, but I tried. I went back to Korea for two weeks to participate in a traditional Korean wedding ceremony with my wife for our two year anniversary. My father and some other family came over as well, so I spent 10 days as tour guide, and the weeks of prep as well as the trip have just smoked me. I just got back into the US tonight, and I'm cashed out. I'll try to write more with some further details in the days to come.

Cool, where were you at in Korea (yes, I know, 80 percent chance you're going to say seoul, but if so, where in seoul?) I gather you're ex-military and you're wife's Korean. Sweet. Now if you turn out to have been a 98G linguist, I'll smile and kiss a pig.

I loved it over there, although I thought the traditional wedding ceremonies were awfully complex, plus I just look funny in han bok. I'm not married to a korean, just been to the ceremonies. I might have married one, but my wife would have objected. Excellent food at them though. (watch out for the soju) (and that goes double for dong dong ju)

Erm, if it helps clarify any, I just got out of the military, I was a korean sigint linguist, and I was stationed the last two years with Greywar at Ft. Hood.

SPC N.S. - as Andy mentioned, I'm a former KP. I spent 3 years at the Hump. This past trip was spent mostly up in the big city. We stayed at a "Motel" near Yaksu subway station, but travelled around and about Kyonggi province. My wife's family is from Inchon, so we spent some time out there, and then lots of travelling around the city - Chongro, Itaewon, Insadong, Gangwhamun, etc. We also spent a couple of days down around the Hump visiting some friends. Good trip overall. Had a great time getting to know my in-laws better. I'm pretty lucky, because the family actually accepts me, and they even like me. I haven't always had that level of acceptance from Korean families in the past...so I really appreciate it...

Sounds like a busy two weeks. I never did get to Inchon, and I really wanted to for the Expo a while back. Ah, well. Maybe another decade...
