It's been a while since I've written and life has changed a lot since the last time I wrote. I moved to Chicago for grad school and it's going fairly well. It's harder to meet people than I thought it would be or maybe I just forgot how to make friends after taking having friends for granted for so long. It's been one big challenge that can wear on a person, but also stimulate a person, too. I have a pet now....I've never been a pet person, but I've started talking to this animal on a regualr basis as if she were a human, a freeloading roommate who doesn't clean or pay rent and I actually have to clean up her shit. But her presence suits me. It's nice to have another living thing around (I killed the only plant I have). The only problem is that she gets possessed at night while I try to sleep. I live in a tiny studio so I have nowhere to put the crazed werewolf after midnight except in the bathroom (the only door in the apartment). She's ferocious. I'm supposed to be studying for a Midterm on Monday, but instead I'm going out for tapas with a friend who's visiting. Somewhere between undergrad and grad school, I lost hte motivation to study.
