Gadget -> Widget Features

I really like gadgets, but there's on main thing for me that really keeps me from using it. That thing is I cannot hide the gadget when I don't want to see it with a hotkey. Personally I'd really like to be able to have the option to hide and view it just like in DesktopX with widgets. Maybe make DesktopX give that feature to gadgets?

That feature does exist (Object.RegisterHotkey and Object.UnregisterHotkey)

I guess people just aren't using it. I know it's on my To Do list for DeskNotes

That is, the ability to create a hotkey which will hide a gadget exists, but the gadget author must set it up themselves; it's not a default option as when exported as a widget.

Ok, I made a serious error and I am unsure how to correct it. I downloaded Tiggs' Omni clock gadget and I was messing around with the preferences. I accidently set the z-order to desktop level and the the thing no longer is visible ANYWHERE when it's running. It's not set up to sit in my system tray so I have no idea how to get into the preferences to set the order back to normal. Any ideas? please.

Ok, I found it, went in and unhid my folders to get into the local settings and deleted the preferences file for it. Sorry about that.
