New WB5 Beta build on OD

We have updated the build of WB on OD.

Please read the readme before installing and please use this thread for bug reports

Some of the changes :

Which means changing skins should be a lot faster.
Right click overrides for per pixel skins work for rollup.
Rundll32 issue should be fixed.
Winzip extraction dialog issue should be fixed.
Min & max animation effects now respect the WB setting.
WBConfig troubleshooting page shows more info (that indicates if
you are missing files).
WBConfig troubleshooting page has a checkbox for compatibility
mode which might help those ATI Mobility 9000 users who have corrupt
titlebar buttons & text background area..
The corruption seen with KOL's Vista skin should be fixed now.
The taskbar semi trans corruption when you apply skins sometimes should be resolved.
The desktop fade now works correctly when the primary is to the right of the secondary.
Minor leak with per pixel frames resolved.
Issue with LogonStudio when applying logons should be corrected.

No update showing here.... Installed version reads 490 .... not 4.90, and no [a], [b], .002, nothing, just 490.

Koasati, I saw somewhere that Stardock Central needed to be updated before you could install. Try updating as a shot in the dark.

Getting better all the time. Drop dowm menu's still black-out as you scroll over them for me.

NT... took care of that last night, up until then, WB5 installs were a fiasco-rama.

Appreciate the tip in any case...

Great update, did you guys any sleep at all last night?

I can confirm that my logonui.exe problem has disappeared, and the problem with 'Soluna2' not skinning the taskbar and the start-menu is now fixed as well.

Thanks a lot!

great work Neil, i had the "CLASSIC" problem last night and today all my stuff is working great right now. had to start with the arrow skin but changed to my skin soon after that and all is working. sorry you had to go threw all the comments from the ones that think a beta is supposed to be perfect but, i'm figuring you can look past them to get to what you need to know. i sure hope santa puts a little extra in your stocking because to fix it this quickly you deserve it!

Thank you for the quick response to the various issues we have encountered...it is very much appreciated. LogonStudio seems to be working fine now and , I'm most grateful.

Fortunately, I have no issues with the new display features, and it seems that WB5 is activated as I can apply the packaged and pre-existing blinds without issue. However, and it's only a small issue, but I still cannot apply new blinds from the newly installed tooltip, and they do not appear in the available list to select from there. To apply a new blind, I must go into its folder in C:\ Program Files\ Windowblinds and double click on the wbload file to load it in the library list, from where it can be applied as normal. It mightn't be as convenient as before, but it's a workaround I can live with and I'm not complaining...this version of WB absolutely rocks.

Hope this helps

Great! The rundll errors are gone

I'm sure that in the first beta there was included a skin more...not sure about the name but it looked like a vista skin. Someone can tell me where it is gone??

Thanks for the fast update!

Neil:
Update: newly installed blinds now appear in the list when I open WindowBlinds. Now the controls are working in the preview panel as well and WB5 seems to be fully functional. I'm not sure what I did exactly to rectify this, so am unable to offer a definite fix. All I've done is run Adaware, Spybot and Ccleaner to remove junk files from C:\ and the registry.

I am so glad that I persisted and remained with my third attempt to install WB5! It really is something to behold, and so much faster as well.

After uninstalling, and rebooting, I downloaded, and installed, what I assume is the latest version. After another reboot, SDc once again says I have version 490.

Everything seems to be working just fine, but that version number 'bugs' me.

Your SDC entry looks different than mine, which has a white background, and I think the icon is smaller...

...and you're sure that you have the latest version of SDC? Mine (updated today) is Version 2.10.344.build: 95
Also, I seem to recall someone mentioning a small program that will completely uninstall whatever Stardock application you want, all files and folders...sorry I can't remember what it's called or where to get it. Maybe someone else here knows?

edit: just realized you said you installed WB...what version does Windowblinds tell you it is (without looking at SDC)?
It's blue because it's selected, the icons are larger because I have Large Icons checked in the View menu. Yes, I have version 2.10.344 build 95.
The program you refer to, for removing 'most' Stardock apps is odnt_zapper.exe...... I have it.
Other than SDC, I don't know where to get a version number from WB5....... there's no tray icon, and in the past that was generally wrong anyway.

Koasati: Have you tried performing the reinstallation routine on Stardock Central? (uninstall, reboot, download/install, reboot).

I'm going to forward this glitch on to the SDC developer and manager of development. I have seen this before, but thought that was due to the customer's version of WB5Beta not being activated. It shows here that yours is activated.

No, haven't tried that yet...... I be leaving the house shortly, so I'll do it later today.

Thanx milksama.

Uninstalled SDC, rebooted, installed latest version, rebooted......... no change.

Stardock Central keeps telling me about the update, but it doesn't show up so that I can update it.  I have  SDC Version 2.10.344 build 95

When I open the history, it shows the history for WindowBlinds 4.90c beta

I uninstalled WB and then the new version showed up to download.  When I downloaded and installed it I found that the skin *arrow* was missing.  It's folder was there, mostly empty.  I uninstalled WB and reinstalled and that skin remains missing.  Everything else seems fine.
Thanks for the roll-up feature.  I really depend on that one.
It looks good, but how do I uninstall a skin?
I'm missing the "delete skin" button...or at least, I don't see it.
onestar, in the actual preview of the skin, you have a bunch of options...change color of skin, etc. One of them is delete skin...

Still have black boxes in WBConfig .... My Animations, My Toolbars, User Overrides.
Everything else seems to be working perfectly.
