You may be experiencing an issue with XP Service Pack 2 if it is installed.

I have no documentation on why XP tends to download any compressed file as a ".zip", but I suspect it has to do with one or both of the following:

1 - For security reasons, Windows assigns ".zip" to any compressed file by default, which allows the built in compressed file applet to control the file.

2 - Windows automatically assigns all compressed file to it's built in compressed file applet.

I am not sure how you will be able to reinstate the automatic install feature, but I wrote a mini tutorial outlining the procedure for keeping the original file extension intact after downloading, which you can see here http://corkyo.wincustomize.com/Articles.aspx?SID=5463&AID=82563

Again, this will not automatically install, but will allow you to double-click the skin/theme files to install after downloading.

If you end up with a ".zip" file using the procedure outlined in the tutorial, then it was originally a ".zip" file.

The easiest way to correct this problem is to install WinZip. It resets the zip file associations. Then .wba files download and install as normal. Who knows why, but it works
