I too am having similar problems with WindowBlinds when using a skin.
Emptying Norton Protected Recycle Bin's Protected files loads up a "status" window during deletion. At this stage WindowBlinds (WB) causes the system to Lock up.
Why WB? Cause when WB is unloaded this doesnt happen.
Another case I encountered was Asus Bios Update utility. When flashing EEProm (a window with 3 status bars) would lock up.
I think that WindowBlinds cant handle some programs that uses their own status bar. WindowBlinds tries to skin the status progression and that is where an error might occur causing the hang.
So far affected programs for me:
Norton Systemworks 2005 Premier
Asus Bios Update Utility.
| [antu^jamban] Same problem here. There are times that when I close apps, it seems to be closed but the window is still there. Its taskbar button still visible but if I try to close it.. nothing happen |
Not sure this falls under the exact same category, but it's close. With windowblinds 5 installed i occasionally have to re-register two dll's in order for windows media player, windows update, and even some web pages to work correctly. These two dll's are vbscript.dll and jscript.dll. It seems I usually have to do this after a shutdown or reboot.
Another issue I am having is that I am unable to override the skin default toolbar icons. I have selected "always use the toolbar icon set selected below" but it has no effect when I apply changes.
I also have iconpackager, desktopx, and component tray installed, all are the latest versions.
