On the Hannity and Colmes show, Jesse Jackson explained that the reason the school buses weren't used to evacuate the citizens of NO, was due to a lack of destination. Unfortunately, since there was no place for the buses to go, there was no reason to use them. Jesse didn't explain where he came across this information.

Exactly. Jesse's explanation ranks up there with Nagin's demand to forget the school buses and bring in Greyhound buses.

Nor, it is alleged, did he have any problems taking tourists from the hotel near his office, putting them in the front of the line at the convention center, and then telling the people who had been there that there waiting that there was no room. I think if it can be proven he made that decision directly, he should be held responsible for every ill or elderly person who died there that was take pushed aside for tourists. At least as many as would fit in those buses that were chartered specifically for the tourists.

I suppose that the greyhound buses that Nagin wanted to commandeer didn't have a destination either, and that's why they didn't all rush down there?

I'm sure you've seen Jesse before; he takes himself very seriously. The impression I came away with was that there was supposed to be an engraved invitation or something? After all, isn't it demeaning to be a refugee, who is fleeing to parts unknown, versus a citizen who's been invited to visit another city?
