Game always centers on ship being moved.

Even if the ship is well within the visible view the game centers on it. This makes it very difficult to watch areas off to the side to see the result of exploring unexplored space, and detracts from the game's playability. This is a post uninstall/install report. The problem occured both before and after uninstall/install.

This is still happening on Beta 4A. It doesn't seem to know that the window is already within half a window of being centered. It should allow more room before centering on the ship.

(Also, if the ship is totally off screen, the window does NOT center on the ship. Is this what was intended?)

There is an option in the Main Menu to center (or not) on ships that are moving on autopilot.

I think not. The main menu is for starting the game. I would expect something like that to be in the options menu under either one of the tabs "game" or "interface".

A clarification here may be in order. I am talking about ships I am moving manually.

That option is under interface and unfortunatly , it does not stop the autocentering of ANY autopiloted ship

GW, so how is that supposed to affect centering ships you are moving manually??????

The movement of the map when moving ships under manual control is still a problem on 4D. If you grab the main map to shft it so that the ship is more than just a little off center (still in view, but maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of the way towards a boarder), when you hit a direction key to move the ship the view is centered over the ship again. This can be very frustrating at times.
