To all of the Wally World bashers.... Katrina relief

Even as some of us discuss the looting and anarchy that has gone on in the aftermath of Katrina, and even as stores like Wal*Mart in the areas have seen their stores looted down to the bare walls, there is an outpouring of assistance flowing from many places -- including from the very target of many bashers of good ol' Wally World (Wal*Mart).

I was watching the news this morning and was heartened to see that walmart had donated that much.
I wonder if they're going to count the value of the merchandise from the stores that were looted as part of that donation (kidding)...

I'm glad to hear that. But, as a person who does have ethical issues about Walmart, and refuses to shop there, I'd have to blame them pretty heavily for their decisions to put guns and ammo up for sale in their stores, which of course, is now out on the streets. Worth a lot of money out there, I'm sure.

Dabe - thanks for the measured and controlled response. Much more tactful and acceptable than a diatribe filled with obscenities that might be trying to say the same thing in a less tactful manner.

With that said, it's been pointed out numerous times that the guns and ammo that are being used by the lawless typically can never be traced to Wal*mart, K*mart or other legitimate gun dealers. The criminals and lawless ones are getting their guns in completely different means.

They may (and that's only a may, not a definite) get ammo from places like Wal*mart, but even that is debatable.
