Guess what I am able to do again....

For the past two days, I've been able to run again!

Growing up, I always loved to run. I joined the cross country team and track team when I was younger, and ran until my little heart was content. Even when I quit cross and track to persue musical endevors, I still ran. That came to a screetching hault in 2002.

That summer I was heading to my cousin's bridal shower when a lady hit my geo metro head on. Since it was such a tiny car, I was very prone to injury, and boy did I get beat up. I suffered a minor concussion, some back trauma, and a cartelidge tear in my right knee. I had more bruises than I had fingers and toes. Thank Christ I was wearing a seatbelt.

The injury to my knee caused a lot of pain. I had to undergo physical therapy for six weeks. When I asked the doctor about running, he said I had better keep it to a minimum. He said that strength training exercises such as yoga and ballet would help.

Needless to say, I whipped out the old dancing shoes again and signed up for ballet that fall...hehe...

Anyways, three years of strength training and many plea's (Ballet squats...whatever) later I am able to run again. I have logged in three miles in the past two days...(haha..whoohoo, I know). Let's hope I can continue my streak!

Congratulations! Sounds like a long, but very successful, recovery. And hopefully you were able to replace your scrunchy little Geo with something a little more sturdy...

(and by the way, it's a "pliƩ". )

That's awesome!

Just make sure to increase your milage slow to prevent hurting something else.

Really, really really, really cool.

Yes, I now drive a Honda Accord...which is a bit larger than my old Geo box....P.S. Thanks for the spelling correction...haha...I'm awful with french....

Spc:
I don't see myself increasing my milage for at least a month or so. Even though I'm in decent shape thanks to power walking and aerobics, I still think running is 10 times more challenging. I'm suprised I can still run a bit over a mile without stopping!
