Best wishes to the fine people whose home is New Orleans....
... and the surrounding area

Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on New Orleans and the surrounding coast, and as things currently are, things do not look good for the area.
As many are aware, New Orleans itself sits below sea level. With the promise of heavy rains, and the winds in the range that are expected (high category 4, or category 5 winds, 160 - 170 plus MPH, and gusts in the 200 MPH range), much damage could be on the horizon.
Katrina already battered Miami and killed at least two people there, not to mention the property damage left behind, and now on the second round, it looks like it could do very, very serious damage to New Orleans.
I have friends that live in New Orleans, and for them, and the rest of the good people there, I hope for the best. I hope the damage is minimal and that the loss of life is nil.
Good luck to all in the area
Oh, one last thought here, I'm almost certain I'll be digging into my pocket again to make a donation to the American Red Cross again for disaster relief. I don't want to twist anyone's arm, but I will say that generally the Red Cross is a great organization that does a thankless job and does it tirelessly and to the best of their abilities. I'm glad that I personally have never needed their assistance, but more so am glad that they exist and are ready to help in situations like these storms. If anyone does have a few spare coins to spare, I do highly encourage a donation to the American Red Cross, as the money will certainly be used for good purposes.
