This my be a weird question, but....

It's a rant people

I just have to ask this because I've heard this question my entire life and I kinda get sick of hearing it. I'll give a brief explanation...

Watches, I love to wear them and for as long as I can remember, I've had one every year of my life. I'm also right handed, I like to think of myself as ambidextrous, but right is the hand I write with most of the time. I also wear my watch on my right hand. With this being said you can pretty much guess the question which usually starts like this. Are you left handed? So why do you wear your watch on your right hand?

You know, I never thought there was a rule book concerning how a person wore a watch.

On page 1 in the first paragraph in Article C stats...

All persons that are right handed must wear their watch one there left wrist, and all persons that are left handed must wear their on the right wrist. Failure to comply to these rules will result in SERIOUS consequences.

I mean come one, does it really matter what fucking wrist we wear a watch anyway. It's just a fashion accessory. A very useful accessry, but a fashion accessory nonetheless. It's shouldn't matter how I wear my watch because it's my watch. I should be able to sport the damn thing however I want, when I want. Jesus Christ, people act like I'm going to hell when they find out I'm right handed when I wear my watch on my right wrist.

Aw well, when I do die and it I do go to heaven. I pass through those gates and see our Lord and he tells me, "You know, your supposed to wear that on your left hand." I'd probably spotaneously combust.....oh well.

My watch is analog, with a spring-winding/time-setting knob. As has been the tradition for over a hundred years, the knob is on the right side of the dial, making it convenient to the right hand when the watch is worn on the left wrist.

With these newfangled modern digital watches with seventeen buttons on each side of the watch face, it probably doesn't matter much which wrist you wear it on.

With the older models, the only rule I ever knew of was the rule that if you wear the knob in an inconvenient place, it's going to be inconvenient to wind/set your watch, and you'll end up feeling like a frustrated ass. From your article, it's pretty clear that this isn't the rule that's bothering you.

Well, it's just the repetition of the question that bothers me. Why do I wear my watch on my right hand if I'm right handed? It's just the way it felt when I first put on a watch. It felt natural to me. Comfortable even. I tried wearing a watch on my left wrist the on time and it just felt weird. Of course, because I wore it on my right wrist for so long, then it would feel weird.

'Well, it's just the repetition of the question that bothers me.'
Presumably though, no one is actually repeating it - that is to say, it's a different person asking the question each time. Consider people with unusual names. Others may ask them about their names, or even joke about them. Sometimes, I'm sure, these people must feel like responding 'Don't bother, I've heard them all!' Nevertheless, there's generally nothing malicious in it. The others are just responding, very naturally, to something unusual.

'You know, I never thought there was a rule book concerning how a person wore a watch. '
Does anybody actually say you're not ALLOWED to wear your watch on your right wrist? Hmm.

'Jesus Christ, people act like I'm going to hell when they find out I'm right handed when I wear my watch on my right wrist.'
They act like you're going to hell? Do they REALLY? Hmm.

Don't you think it would be easier to put on and take off your watch with your right hand?

Btw, why the hell do you have your content bar on the left? lol
