Hope on the Horizon

A poem...a little shorter than usual...but there it is anyway. Enjoy!

Sitting on a lonely isle,
Without hope or thoughts of glee,
Then in the distance,
A dazzling star I did see.

A star that shone with the brightest hope,
That lifted me from the darkness.
Pulled up by a dazzling rope,
That radiated with light and warmth.

For the first time I saw,
What this world had to offer.
And I stood in awe,
And I did prosper.

These dark feelings that held me down,
Now dispersed by this new view I had.
I felt alive,
No more days of feeling sad.

The world in which I live,
Is so covered in beauty.
If only now I can forgive,
Myself, for what I chose to ignore.

Now I live each day,
With the vigor I once did.
No more hiding away,
Like a frightened little kid.

I guess we're kinda on the same path by the sound of this poem! I love it! Short but sweet as the saying goes!
