Chivalry...dead?

Not for me, my friends.

(Trudygolightly as well as some recent convos with some friends...or a friend, or something like that...struck up my beliefs again)

Chivalry- the brave and courteous qualities of a knight; gentlemanly conduct

How many of you think that there is no honor left in the world?....Sometimes I do. It is a strong belief of mine to defend women at all costs....no violence, no abuse, no rape....if I were to come into contact with a man who had broken those rules, then God have mercy on them, because I surely wouldn't.

In these days the world seems a rotten place, and I try and show some shred of common decency. Do you know how sad I get, when a girl does something...and if I'm a little irritated they think that I'm going to hit them? That breaks my heart...I have never, nor will I ever lay a violent hand on a woman. I try to be a rather decent person....and for the most part, I think I am. My pledge to the world is protect women, so wherever I am....rest assured that I'll be looking out for the ladyfolk. (Seriously, at 6' 1" and none too skinny....I can take pretty much anyone, or at least make them think twice about starting stuff....did I mention that I can box? :P)

Old beliefs, old actions...looks like I'm an old soul, already at 17....whew, when I actually get old I'll just be annoying. :)

Well, there's some insight into what I believe....so, I'm out for now. (Actually, it feels weird posting a regular article...I need to go write a poem now, lol)

The world, even as we know it now, is never " too tech" for chivalry, good manners, kindness, respect, a gentler
kinder way of being.

One doesn't have to be religious, or a Christian to use these qualities, only have a heart filled with love and happiness.

So you recognize that you're an "old soul"? hmmnnn, neat.

Shaun~ To be honest your chivalry really just pisses me off... all that crap about protecting woman, come on. you treat me like i'm completely incapable of having an intelligent thought, i don't care how many times you deny it you are sexist. It gets really frustrating. You need to meet a friend of mine. He practices genuine chivalry. He has spent our entire friendship opening up doors for me, pulling out my chair, and offering me his coat in sub zero temps. The difference is he listens tohat i have to say, and hes never suggested that he is intellectually superior to me. There has never been romantic interest or anything, he just a really good friend. Brandon has always done the same as well as alex. Chilvary is not dead. But acting intellectually superior is indded..

Damnit Sarah....I don't treat you like an idiot....I don't know why you keep thinking I do....but trust me if I do, it's not intentional...I always listen to you, and usually I agree. Half the time, you scare the hell out of me when you're pissed at something....so I'm not really going to argue with you. You're not intellectually inferior nor I am superior....I keep telling you that. I may be a little sexist, but nothing in a negative way...I always support the fairer sex in whatever they wish to accomplish. I just think they need a bit of protection, physically most women are weaker than men...even you have to admit that.
