The Warped Mirror
Someone inspired this...so, it's not me who I'm talking about in the poem. (This is also my 150th article)

Surely they must be right,
They’ve said it for so long,
It’s useless to fight,
They can’t be wrong.
I have this mirror,
I gaze into it and see,
A person of horror,
That must be me.
I can’t be attractive,
I’m not so smart,
My talent is defective,
I’m missing a part.
So many agree,
That this person I see,
Must certainly be,
The revolting me.
I received a present,
Sometime ago.
It’s something I resent,
I look and say, “No!”
A mirror, shiny and new,
Showed someone wonderful,
I thought it must be skew,
I wasn’t like that,
It couldn’t be true.
I looked to and fro,
At the mirrors I had,
One was the person I know,
The other had to be bad.
Then I received more,
And they showed me the same,
The old mirror was wrong,
It was the one to blame.
They all showed me how wonderful I am,
And I couldn’t believe,
For so long I was horrible,
But now they made me see.
I can’t believe I was like this,
All along I thought,
That I wasn’t worth loving,
But these proved different.
They could show me love,
And they gave me hope,
No more warped images,
No more evil jests.
