You try to change toolbars icons and they don't change......... Happens to me all the time. After I select a new set, and Apply Changes, I then have to open Display Properties > Apperance tab, select the skin I'm using in the dropdown list, and hit Apply........ I wish they would fix this little annoyance, but it has been this way since the feature was added.

You have to kill explorer.exe from task manager then..file > new task (run) > type in explorer.exe...ok....

Most of the time this works: after applying the icons change the size of the toolbar with the "old" icons from small to large or from large to small and back again.

keymastr,

Which icons are you trying to use?

You might try the following:

Delete the current folder for the icons located in the WindowBlinds sub-directory.

Download the toolbar icon file to say My Documents > change the file extension from ".wba" to ".zip > extract to the same folder > move the extracted folder to the WindowBlinds sub-directory > start WindowBlinds > My Toolbars > make sure the "Always use the toolbar icon set selected below" is selected > select the icon set > click "Apply changes" on left side of panel (make sure any explorer windows are closed while applying).

Technically, that should do it if you have not tweaked anything in the registry or with any other "non-Stardock" programs.

I just ran into an interesting thing.

With both the copperdeck2 and sputnikwb toolbar icons, I had to change the name on the folder to match the name of the edit with SkinStudio file.

Using the method mentioned in my comment #7 above, I renamed the extracted folder from copperdeck2 to copper_deck_2 which was then placed in the WindowBlinds sub-directory. This allowed the set to be selected, previewed, and applied in the My Toolbars category (where it had been listed by name only with no preview or application ability when named copperdeck2).

Similarly sputnikwb folder was renamed to spunik_wb, with the same success.

Not sure if this helps anyone, but it looks like WindowBlinds was looking for the file names assigned in SkinStudio, and not seeing them due to incorrect naming of the downloaded file.

I've just encountered this problem, and I don't think I encountered it this way before. I wasn't able to change the toolbar icons, but they would change automatically whenever I'd change the skin. But now my favorite skin (Anai) cannot get its toolbar icons back. It's amazing how these little things just piss you off and how life would be wonderful if I could just get my Anai toolbar back. I've tried all of the suggestions above. Nothing's working.Email
