Stardock RightClick lets you design your own right-click desktop menu. Add program short-cuts, folders, disk space monitors, RSS readers, and virtually anything you can imagine to it.  Get it on its own or as part of Object Desktop.

Your desktop is usually covered with windows. No problem, RightClick enables you to assign a hot-key to bring it up any time, any where.  It's also fully skinnable and supports adding DesktopX widgets to your menus.

RightClick is easy to use yet very powerful.  Menus are created using a straight forward configuration program. Virtually anything one could imagine having in their desktop menu can be done with RightClick.

New to version 1.1:

  • Better WindowBlinds skinning support
  • Supports embedding DesktopX widgets into menus
  • Supports embedding gadgets into menus

Note: RightClick 1.1A was released on 7/27 to address a bug with how folder short-cuts were viewed.

this problem happens when i have, in the menu item properties, unchecked the box "show folder in a menu"...if i leave the box checked, i can rightclick on the 'my computer' menu item, select 'open' from that menu, and it opens 'my computer' in a folder, without crashing..

Uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted. Added "Recycle Bin" to the default menu, didn't use my backup menu config. Same thing, crash. Liquidguru has that right in his last comment, If I have say "My Computer" set to show the folder in a menu, it will use the flyout and you can open what is in there. If I have it set to just open the "My Computer" folder, it will crash. I sure as hell hope system restore gets me back to a workable state, this is just another screw-up. I haven't updated anything else for weeks because of the problems, I figured how could this not work if I had my configs backed up. Well, you found a way.

I would really love someway to save my setup...maybe as a theme file or something, anything would be nice. I totally lost my setup when I updated.

Updated, rebooted, RC icon showed up in systray, but there was no menu when I right clicked. Nothing at all. Went in and had to make a whole new setup because mine was gone. Got everything set up, but nothing on right click.

Uninstalled, rebooted, installed. Works, but had to rebuild the menu. Having a 'theme' file to load would have saved some of that.

...oops, just saw a newer update (7/26) will install that one and see. History shows a skin editor tool! Sounds promising

Okay Boss, you're done.  This is like the gazillionth post in the gazillionth thread where you've just been nothing but nasty.  I think it's time you consider your behavior.  Just checking your personal page's activity tab shows page after page of nastiness directed at us. From here on out, use [email protected] for tech support on SD software.  Nakor and myself are trying hard at 10pm to resolve this problem -- and we're not tech support. Because we use RightClick in a slightly different way than you do doesn't make the product as bad as you describe.  We're talking ONE setting in ONE area that causes a problem.  We should have a solution within the next 24 hours hopefully.

In a few days I'll restore your access to citizen and see if you can interact with people with some civility.

By contrast, LiquidGuru, thank you for your help. We have increased your access to elite level (Apprentice).

Yes, LiquidGuru, thank you. And the reason the file sizes wound up different when I resynced is because I forcibly updated the version resources on the files to make sure they were updated. It's the same build.

Wow that was a lot of .net stuff for the skin editor.

What is Anamania for which you thank Hippy? I don't see that on the skins list.

Will play around with that editor. Looks pretty straight forward, but it doesn't save menu setup/layout(?).

Designing a menu with the editor was easy. Saved it (why doesn't it save it in the RC skins folder?)

btw...thanks for being up at 10pm for this. It's nice that you care enough to do that

I second that! RightClick was a bit glitchy for me at first, but a simple reboot made it work perfectly. I love the DesktopX integration, this is everything I needed and more! Here's my round of applause for all the hard work you've done (hah, close enough right?).

Cool stuff!

Although you probably don't need any more confirmation, I see the same thing liquidguru does

One other thing I've noticed is that when I add a widget, in some cases, it causes the menu to act up. By that I mean that the menu will stretch across the screen, and the widget will be shown on the far right margin of the menu. A good one that does this is OmniTime2 by Tiggz. Is this likely to be related to the version of DX that the widget was built under, or is it possibly related to something in the widget itself?

Anyway, no huge deal, I may poke around inside the widget myself and see how much damage I can do but figured you all might want to check it out if it's something you haven't already seen.

I would like to know what sort of testing you did. A dozen people here discovered the problem within a few hours! (minutes). Surely all the "tick box" options were tested, or maybe not. Not good enough, its not as if this is a freebie programme.

Boss, I know you're probably on the brink of suicide right now after your public demotion by Frogboy but we have an apprenticeship vacancy going at my place of work if youre interested. We need someone to make our cups of tea. Or you could just start kissing the frogs ass and turn him into a handsome prince and you'll be made a wizop or a journeyman or a knight or queen or something.

I like the idea of having Programs being sorted differently on the Startup Menu and in righclick.

Lets see....did update again..rebooted. Will not auto-start even though option is checked off and applied. I made shortcut in start-up programs ..works for one reboot..after that..it just disappears from start-up group.
I ran my clean up program and this was message..never saw this message before so it must be related.

Well.....im sure if you go check out bash2cool's thread " Does wincustomize need a makeover " and he sure can tell you how you can get all your Stardock programs for free...not be a subscriber and still get a promotion to " Apprentice" While the rest us poor saps actually pay for the programs.

Weather Boss was right or wrong isnt even the issue here anymore. My 2 cents worth..God knows its not going to have much meaning though is it?

But..you taking away boss's Master Apprentice because he had the " audacity " to speak out or critisize...then ( nothing against you liquidguru ) you made " liquidguru an apprentice because why ? He agreed with you ? You'll say no.....but..from where I sit, thats exactly what it looks like. You could have removed Boss's comments at any time but instead you sent your message LOUD and clear..agree with me or else...

Guess i lose my ~ squiggle now but at least I dont care. And at least I wont kiss anyones butt to get a " promotion " but..i can still pay my way...

Right-Click does not work under Windows XP x64 Edition. You guys might want to get that working, considering how all windows versions will soon be x64 bit.

Fairyy~, Boss attitude was very disrespectful, you don’t talk like to people you don’t know. And if he bought the product and he’s asking for support, there’s no reason to behave like that. He thinks that being like that helps him look cool.
Frogboy was right, in my opinion, to take access away from him until he realizes that he needs to stop treating people like that.

 Fairyy~ ...I was overly patient/tolerant of earlier comments on another thread....any 'demotions'/'promotions' here were well deserved.

As for  Apprentice liquidguru his level change was in direct response to specific assistance with tracking down an error....and incidentally there are people here who stoutly refuse promotion even after being of continuous public assistance to us all.

People are allowed to be 'audacious'.  They are even tolerated being 'obnoxious'....to a point.

Once that point is passed....the phrase is 'they bring it upon themselves'.

People can complain...they can draw attention to errors - bugs - problems.....but when they're doing it they can keep a damn civil tongue in their heads.

Being 'nice' doesn't actually take more effort.....

No it doesnt take more effort..and for the most part I try to be " nice "
I stated that I am not agreeing that Boss was right or wrong....but when one is demoted and then one is promoted in the same paragraph..thats the way it looks. Not everyone knows what went on in other threads. You know I prefer to not engage in this type of posting . But I sent you an email on Monday....perhaps you felt it didn't deserve a reply...or you just havent had time.

Liquidguru wasn't agreeing with us.  He was the one who actually helped us figure out what the issue was.   And there is a big difference between criticism and abuse.  I don't see any reason why we should have to put up with abuse from anyone, customer or no.  If you feel that you're being mistreated, feel free to leave. 

Some people seem to forget that there are other people on the other side of the screen.  And when I browse WinCustomize, I don't expect to see people abusing us or other people.  It totally ruins the overall culture of the site.  If you want to pretend that people get promoted or demoted based on whether they "agree" with us, then knock yourself out.  Boss should have been demoted after his behavior in the "Does WInCustomize need a makeover" thread.  It never ceases to amaze me how people on the Internet think that purchasing a $20 thing entitles them to heap scorn and abuse on people. Makes one wonder how some people behave at restraunts and movie theaters if every little thing doesn't go their way.  Do they start shouting at waitresses for hours on end?

That was my point..and half the argument between you and boss..over an email you never recieved..it happens...mine is a moot point by now.

Right now..I just want my " right click " to work with losing this menu again.

But, thats another story..

I read the whole " does wincustomize need a makeover " thread. I read how you need to increase subscription..i read how stardock pays the " Lion's share " Yet...you completely ignored my whole comment about bash2cool admitting that he has never purchased anything. He just " buys a new computer " so he doesnt have to purchase the programs...tell me whats wrong with that picture ? When confronted ...his excuse is " im only 14 " but he knows how to reformat a computer and he can skin and he has a " job " but he never heard the word " pirating " before ? You asked for solutions to the problem..increasing subscriptions. Yet, you disregard that part of the post. Instead..bash2cool is given a promotion to " apprentice " . ot long ago boss was given " master apprentice " If you thought that much of him at the time ..which was not long ago..then you could have settled this a bit nicer. Maybe you managed to keep " cool" but so many chimed in because in reality they love the " drama " as they call it.

In all the time i've been at WC you have never answered a post or a comment I have made...until now.
