standard icons?

is there a way?

Hi
Is there a way to change/add standard icons to programs? so that icon appears instead of the original task icon? i tried changing the settings in DefaultAppImages.ini but it doesn't seem to do anything.

Not entirely sure what you're trying to do. You mention the "DeafultAppImages.ini", so I'm thinking you're referring to ObjectDock. But since you didn't post this in the OD forum, I'm not sure.

If you are talking about OD, all you have to do is right-click the task icon and choose Dock Entry Properties, and change the image there.

If you trying to do something different, we need more info.

Are you talking about the ORIGINAL .exe program icon? For instance, when you install
a new program it has its own program's icon attached to the .exe, but... you do not
like the look of it, so you want to change the original (not a shortcut).exe's icon. IF
this is what you are talking about you need to do the following:

1. You have to have the "Enhanced Registered Version" of IconPackager installed.
2. Go to your Program Files folder & find the program's .exe you would like to change.
3. R-click on the main program's .exe & select properties.
4. Select "Icon" tab
5. Click "Change Icon..."
6. Map it to the new icon you would like it to use.
7. Click OK

That's it.

oops, i was suposed to post in the object dock forum.
anyway, if you asign "running tasks" to a dock. Some of the programs show a custom icon instead of the original program icon.

like notepad.exe has a icon of a paper and pencil instead of the original blue notebook. I want to change the icons of other programs in running tasks.

In DefaultAppImages.ini there is a line: "notepad.exe=last (objectdock)\last (cobalt) text file.png" this is the icon that appers in the dock. i've tried changing this and adding other programs but nothing happens.

Right click the icon you want to change (while the program is running) > select "Dock Entry Properties" > Change the image there.

If you insist on doing this the hard way by tweaking the ini file, you'll need to modify the AppImages.ini located in C:\Documents and Settings\*USERNAME*\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus
