http://www.iconzone.com

A new version of IconPackager has been released.  This update has been designed to address some compatibility issues and fix a few bugs we found.  Below is what's been updated:

  • Updated iprepair.dll for people reporting issues (like being unable to drag items in ObjectDock).
  • Added File > New menu for creating new themes.
  • Added 527 string entry to language files.
  • Fixed new file types being displayed in Package Builder mode correctly.
  • Fixed exe icons being displayed correctly on uninstall.
  • Fixed restoring default exe file from right-click shell extension.
  • Fixed crash on loading list of themes on startup.
  • Fixed Package Builder save dialog displaying correct title.
  • Fixed Cursor scheme within control panel not being reset correctly.
  • Fixed prompting with deleting themes and getting an error message.
Object Desktop users should download it via Stardock Central.

I just installed the new version. The problems are just as bad if not worse.I tried to open my control panel, and this is the message I get(the application failed to initialize properly(0xc0000005)click on ok to terminate application). Then the whole computer freezes up.I then reboot and uninstall with OD zapper.I have reformatted my computer twice in the past week until I realized what the problem was. When I uninstall with OD zapper I get the message(error loading cache.dll please re-install).I hope Stardock gets this figured out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Corky for the OD zapper link.

I have to say that I feel for those that have been having problems with IP and that have had it hosing your system, but I count myself lucky in the fact that I am using the milestone release and it works perfectly for me.

I've been having problems with it saving custom file types into my packages.

I can't save PDF, ISO, MDB, XLS, and a few other types. I can change them and have them apply within a package, but I can't save the package and have them included....

i wonder, Y is it so big, can't stardock release a lite edition for sale or via stardock central, which contains only the main package & no icon packs, with a link to download more icon, I mean this can bring the file size to about 2 MB or even less, will be a boon for the Dial up uses like me

After installing the new version my MS Office XP was totally hosed. Thank God I had a Full Image copy that I could use to restore my system because uninstalling the update did not even fix the problem. The only thing I could do was recover the hard drive.

Interesting, no problem with Office XP here.

Installed IP Ver 3.00a.091. Hyperlinks would not work and lost windows "help & support". Restored my system to IP 2.99b[rc].002 and everything works fine. Will be leaving Ver 3 alone for the time being.

Still have about 75% of my packages refusing to show, both pre and post clean install. You can install them, and they show, but the next time you start IP they are gone again (though the folder and content is still there). A real pain, though I can get round it

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope...

I went into IconPackager Menu to Tools and unchecked the Repair Shell Icons. It took care of problems I was having also.

AVAST
DYMO Label

and other window programs are not open and working.

I just upgraded to the full Object Desktop suite and immediately started having problems upon installind IP3.

First, Logical Disk Manager would not load and time out with a "Server Execution Failed" error. Then random apps that depended on OLE/COM/DCOM (CuteFTP, FL Studio, etc.) would refuse to start, quoting "OLE initialization failed. Make sure the libraries are the correct version" or just hanging.

I hope Stardock fixes this soon, I'm glad it wasn't bad RAM or anything.
