Seventeen Americans Missing

As I was doing my morning crunches, a newsbrief stated that there had been a helicopter crash in Iraq this morning and seventeen Americans are missing.

Last night I decided to give W a clean slate and hoped he would be able to shed some light on our global situation. Once again, the bulb proved to be rather dim. I found his speech to be more of the same old cock waving jargon.

My heart goes out to the friends and families of our troops. Bring our men and women home. We have no business being over there.

Why don't you ask some of the people over there if we have any business over there. I have a few e-mail addresses of my friends, American Soldiers, if you would like to expand your narrowed mind.

They still have a job to complete. When you say that they shouldn't be there, you make light of the hard work that our American Soldiers are doing and that is nothing short of dispicable.

I support our troops, however I do not support this war.

That makes no sense to me. I don't understand how you can be in favor of a person while showing disrespect to the job he does proudly.

You musn't feel bad about the dead servicemen. I saw the MSNBC story on this event and the side headline is "Afghan Tragedy" as if it were an act of God or an act of nature or something. It's no tragedy, it's an act of war. A war the servicemen crossed the ocean to fight. A war they left their families to fight. It's a lot of things but it's not tragic. It's brutal. 'Tis war. It's bloody. 'Tis war. One thing is confusing. Why would you give Bush a clean slate as if he were a nuisance co-worker? This is a man who has sent thousands of people to their deaths over "a pack of lies". He's a man who condoned and ordered torture to be used as de facto policy for the US armed forces. He's a man who tried to prevent the 911 Commission from doing its job. He holds back documents (evidence). He dodged his generation's war. He lies constantly. And you wish to start anew. Odd. And John you may need to think this through some more. Not all GI's are acting with pride. And it's time you were taught that. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article5365.htm Make Mom proud boys.

John:
Have you ever seen the election episode of South Park? You are pulling a, "No, you're a turd sandwich!" I refuse to argue with that.

Reiki:
I feel bad because of the orders they were sent out to do. I feel bad for innocent civilians. We have no business being over there.

Wrong Country.  It was shot down in Afghanistan.

Only a truly twisted, hate-filled, mentally ill person could possibly say something this asinine. Whether you disagree with the politics of the war or not, this is a truly hateful and sick statement. You are without a doubt a sick and despicable excuse for a human being.
I apologize to Alison and anyone else reading this, except for the person to whom it is directed, as I normally do not engage in personal insults or attacks but this is just too overtly disgusting to let pass.

Thank you for the correction. If you read my previous blog, I didn't get much sleep and I must have heard it wrong.

Mason:
I agree..that opinion is pretty F^$*@# up

In light of the correction, do you still think the above should be done?

And what happens to the Iraqi people? Have you given that any thought?

To both of you:
Yes, I still believe we need to get our troops out of there. I feel bad for the Iraqi's, but shouldn't we be concerned with our own problems such as the terrorists attacks on 9/11? I am unclear what Bush's stradegies are.

Politics aside, whether we were right or wrong to go there, the reality is that we are there. We destroyed the Iraqi military and government. Don't you feel that we now have a responsibility to them to help rebuild their country? Or do you believe it would be the right thing to do to just throw them to the wolves at this point?
How cruel would it be for us to just pack up and go home now? Would that be the act of a responsible government?
And what kind of message do you think it would send to the terrorists currently operating in Iraq if we cut and run?

I was referring to Afghanistan.  DO you beleive we should pull our troops out of there?

Don't you think making sure Iraq has a stable govenrment that doesn't support terrorists is a good thing?

Oh Mason don't be so anal. One feels bad for innocent dead. One feels bad for victims of a tornado. One feels bad for people who die from food poisoning courtesy of JackInTheBox...you do not expend valuable misgivings over the death of someone who enters another country armed with killing/widow-making equipment. It's like a guy who dies from a parachute accident....."Oh I'm so sorry to hear about Bob, it's so tragic. How did it happen?.....WHAT??!!?? He jumped out of a plane at twenty thousand feet with nothing but a nylon canopy held together with strings?"...So Mason, I feel bad for the innocent dead. Not the ones who killed them. Hey Mason, if China invaded the US would you work with the Chinese Occupational Government to recreate the USA to their liking? Or would you stalk the illegal Chinese occupational forces to kill them? I know which I would do if someone illegally invaded my country.
Food For Thought
You don't feel bad for those who die due to actions of a sovereign people who wish to be free of foreign occupation. Little Habib and Apu are the reincarnation of the likes of Jefferson and Washington.
Quiz:
What was the term the British used to describe the American revolutionary leaders when they had the nerve to desire independence from a foreign ruler?
Answer:
Insurgent rebels.

So Mason drop your lame pseudo righteous indignation and save it for your mainstream media. Anyone in Iraq who dies while in possession of weapons has died accordingly. I don't feel bad for any dead Iraqi freedom fighters. Nor do I feel bad for GI's who die while on a combat operation or by an IED. Only the innocent.
Hey Mason again check this sad footage out. You feel bad for murderers?

"Wounded, another Iraqi writhes on the ground...the marines kill him...*bang* *bang* *bang*...then cheer...'yahoo yeah right on woohoo'...I don't know, those guys are dead now but....it was a good feeling...afterwards you're like 'hell yeah that was awesome...let's do it again...".
Watch it and see the US military honor being flushed down the shitter.
YOU are the sad one.

Talk about being "anal"! "Your" the sad one not Mason. Why don't you try growing a brain and then grow up!

Look, we just all agree to disagree. I would like to post articles without being chastsized for them.

Sorry Miller can you maybe elaborate on that comment? It makes no sense and is not, to my mind, part of the conversation. Grow up? Why exactly? I'm only for international law. The same laws your nation drafted and signed on to. YOU need to grow up and by that I mean you need to read some history. You're ignorant to the facts.

LW:
My articles automatically go to the forums, I did not know you could choose for them not to do so. Why don't you go cause controversy elsewhere, because I am not looking for it here.

Reiki:
While I appreciate your zest for the left, I do feel that some of your comments are a bit over the top. Like I said to LW, go cause controversy elsewhere.

Same here.

Oh, and if you want, not saying that you should, you can keep things from going to the forums by unclicking the box that says "Display in the forums as well," listed directly under the text box when you're creating a new article. It's a default setting that you have to change manually.

RH, unlike you and the sick minds like you, I do feel bad for anyone who is killed. Not just our troops, but all of them. It's a bad thing when people die in war, regardlesss of what side they are fighting on. They are all our fellow human beings and it is tragic.

The only ones I don't feel badly for are the ones who blow themselves up while attempting to kill innocent people.

Alsion, I am not sure who your comment was direct towards, but I certainly hope you don't feel that I was chastizing you in any way. I was simply asking you questions regarding your comments. It's called discourse. I respect your opinions, but have to question whether they are based upon sentiment or upon serious thought about the consequences, thus the questions.

You are right not everyone is acting with pride. I don't, however, need to think it through to know that the vast majority are doing the best job they can. I watched the edited video link that you posted. I have to stress that this clip has been edited. You have no way of knowing that the soldier in that video is the one who fired the shot. You can even be sure that his comments are in relation to that video. Can you? If you do you are making a leap of faith that the media always tells the truth.
