The rumor that Ghost Recon 3 has been titled "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter" has been confirmed. Various outlets including Gamespot have received official word from Ubi that the EBGames product page was indeed telling the truth. As the title suggests the game will revolve around a new kind of elite field soldier who uses advanced weapons technology, satellite communications, and new squad interactivity.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter will be set in 2013 in the rebel controlled city of Mexico City. The Ghosts have been tasks with penetrating the rebels forces and regaining control. Advanced Fighter will be assaulting Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, and PC this fall, with the game customized for its system.
