Despite all the evidence..

....Teri Schaivo's parents refuse to belive that she was in a persistent vegetative state.

Despite the Medical Examiner's finding's and the autopsy and pharmacology reports, they still don't want to believe that she had no chance of recovery.

Just goes to show that faith defies all logic and scientific proof sometimes....

Scientific proof?

She was alive.

To obtain said proof, she had to be killed.

Nice way to prove a point.

Actually that's not totally true.  There were CT scans done prior to her death that showed the amount of atrophy her brain had undegone.  The autopsy simply confirmed the CT scan findings.

Oh, and before this goes any further...I'm not saying that her death was necessary, because I don't believe that it was.  Her parents were happy to care for her for the rest of her life, and I think that they should have been allowed to do just that.

What I am saying is that despite physical evidence to the contrary, her parents refuse to believe that she had no hope whatsoever of recovering from her PVS.

I know your stand on this.  I was not commenting on that, or making accusations.  I was just saying goodbye to her as I did when she died.  It was all legal and so this was really not necessary. It answered some questions, but not  all.  Nor did I expect it to.

It happened. She died. I think that no matter what "side" people have chosen we all need to just let her rest in peace. It is disturbing that the parents will not let her soul go on with dignity. Must they knitpick at every last detail?!

Once again, to quote Stan Marsh from South Park:
"It was right for the wrong reasons and wrong for the right reasons."

BTW:
Happy B day (or soon to be) Karen!! I tried to send you an E card, but it came back... : (
