Vin Diesel to Star as Agent 47

According to the Hollywood trade sites, Variety and Hollywood Reporter, Vin Diesel has signed on to play Agent 47 for the Hitman movie. Chuck Gordon and Adrian Askarieh have been signed on to produce the 20th Century Fox picture but there is currently no Director. Hitman is one of Eidos' biggest franchises and will be getting another game added to it later this year.
No announcement has been made whether a tie-in game, like Escape from Butcher's Bay, will be created by Diesel's development firm, Tigon Studios, or any studio. A release date for the Hitman film has not been announced but given the shortest production time a movie could take, you won't see anything till at least 2006. The next entry to the Hitman franchise is set for a fall release on PC, Xbox, PlayStation 2, and mobile phones and has been dubbed Hitman: Blood Money.
