Getting Up No Longer PS2 Exclusive

Fiscal Report Spills the Beans

Atari has announced via a fiscal report that their soon to be released graffiti game is no longer a PS2 exclusive. Marc Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure will be coming available for Xbox and PC sometime in the fiscal year of 2006, while the PS2 version should hit the streets in Fall 2005. Getting Up puts you in the shoes of a newbie graffiti artist, Trane, looking to leave his mark by painting murals throughout the city. The more daring the location, the more props you will receive which will allow you to "get up" and progress through the game. Trane is slated to be voiced by hip-hop artist Talib Kweli and feature numerous real graffiti artists.

You know, this game got a good deal of attention at E3 and I had no idea why. I don't mean this as a diss to the title, I just thought it was a wacky game to get made - especially in a time where publishers hate taking risks.

And if thats true why did Jet Set Radio and Jet Grind Ratio not do so hot when they actually had alot of cool stuff to them. Maybe the graffiti community is larger than we expected?
