The things we do for love...
Be warned, it's pretty graphic and a bit gruesome.
It makes me and D getting matching tattoos seem lame!

That's not love...its madness.
But isn't love madness anyways, otherwise why would we ever get married.
We get married because we pair bond. that's human nature, not insanity.

One the scale of 'out there' this is waaaay waaaaay out there. I cannot imagine biting someone else's finger tip off. I can't even imagine cutting someone else for sexual pleasure or gratification.
I have no issue with what consenting adults do to each other, that's their gig, their decision. However....I do think that we ought to start calling things as they are. If getting smacked around gets you off then that's great, but don't try to pretty it up by giving it a fancy name. It's violence, plain and simple. Like I said, if that's what satisfies you sexually, then that's fine...but just say that getting beat up gets you off, don't try to sugar coat it.
So, these guys got a kick out of biting and being bitten....

I mean men and women could not be anymore different yet we can't live without each other. It's like ying and yang. But I'm curious of this pair bonding of which you speak of.

There's a very good essay about man/woman pair bonding and why it happens.
Got to go with Mano!
I'm thinking that it's a bit extreme too.....

not completely postal type crazy out of your head perhaps, but not lame
Well, that's true....although I think that 'normal' is a good way of describing it.
yes it is.... so is cutting yourself up for pleasure.
Or cutting someone else up for sexual gratification and getting off at the sight of their blood. Apparently there are people who like that too. That e-zine that I linked to has a few of those.
that is all i can say. wow. (ps. i sent you an email the other day--didya get it?)
I know. That's what I said too.
Yes, I did, and I'm going to reply this weekend...been pretty bad about responding to emails of late...sorry!
Here's a thought.....society can put people on a mental health hold because they're a danger to themselves and/or other people....would you consider biting someone else's finger tip off and allowing someone else to do the same to you as a 'danger' to yourself and other people?
but gotta say.. they both are contenders for the butterfly net
I agree, but...how is this different than S and M? Apart from the degree, I mean. Isn't it along the same lines at that?

s and m is not permanent.. cutting off limbs are. there is a difference.

From what I understand, it's common S and M practice to bite hard enough to draw blood, cut, whip and pierce...most of which leave scars, so in a way it's kind of permanent. I will concede that S and M is usually for sexual gratification, and the couple that bit off each other's fingers did so as a mark of committment rather than for sexual pleasure.
neither is normal
Bothe are deviant behaviour - deviant meaning ' behavior that is a recognized violation of cultural norms'. So, unless we live in a society that looks upon cutting, biting, whipping and piercing for sexual pleasure as 'normal' then yes, they are both deviant behaviours.
SICK!!!
That is so gross......... and very strange.
well that is what makes the world go round differing opinions
QUITE ROMANTIC!!!
Should someone warn Wendy's?
Froggy! How are you?
I've perused BME a few time before, so I'm familiar with it's content. I've read stories of people self-modifying, but I've never come across this particular..ummm....ritual before. I simple cannot imagine biting off someone elses finger...
