Airport screeners could see X-rated X-rays

More dumb ideas courtesy of the government

I wouldn't normally put up a news item on this but I've been traveling a lot lately and airport security is almost certainly one of the biggest reasons why I try to avoid it.  I just hate having to take off my shoes, unpack my carefully packed laptop bag, and wait in long lines.  But now they want to introduce X-ray machines that let people see through our clothes?

Here's a fact check: Number of hijackings that have occurred due to someone getting an illegal item through security in the US? Answer: 0.  9/11 happened because the terrorists took box cutters - items that were perfectly legal -- onto the plane.  This is a solution for a problem that doesn't even exist. A "solution" that merely puts up even more obstacles to flying.

"Whether you obsess over their grandeur or not should not be based on 'who' said it but on what was said.."

I always add the author of a good quote, if I know who that is.
It's a courtesy, not to mention good form, to other readers, who
may want to know in order to find more words of the same person,
and not an "obsession over their grandeur".

I had hoped you, as someone administrating intellectual property
would appreciate that, I'm sorry you don't feel that way.

The problem is always the same, you got a problem and you got some politician who has a shot at an ungodly amount of your tax dollars. Put the two together and you get some pervert pushing a machine to photograph your wife in the nude while you stand by and do nothing. Any idiot will tell you that if some terrorist truly wants to kill hundreds of people at a time, it's not necessary to fly anywhere to do it. Anywhere there are people is the opportunity to wax people.

Timothy McVeigh drove a dang U-Haul truck so what would looking through my grandmothers clothes to her skin in some airport in another state do to prevent a U-Haul truck from doing the kinds of damage Arab nutcases want to do to us?

But hell, to that politicians high minded contributors, he is saving lives. He is doing nothing but spending money so other perverts have reason to come to work. How long after these machines go online do you think the first pictures hit the net? You know it's gonna happen.

It's not about intellectual property, or giving credit, etc....it's about not attributing such importance to sayings purely for the fame of their orator...

I'm not attributing any importance to quotes because a certain person said or wrote something,
as I said earlier, I always add the source of a good comment, no matter if the person is "famous" or not,
as long as I know who said what.

It's up to the reader to judge what quotes are "important" or not for them.
