On Being Short..

When I was younger I was always so much taller than everyone else my age. All of the doctors told my mother that they were expecting me to be about 5`7. All of the other women in the family averaged around 5 foot even, so this was such a shock to my parents. My mother, who's only about 5`4 was so amazed that her little girl was going to be the tallest female in the family.

Evidently, there were other plans for me.

When I reached junior high, I leveled off at about 5`2 and have been there ever since. I absolutely hate it! To this day I still get comments like, "Oh my gosh, you are so tiny!" "Are you considered a midget?!"

This gets super annoying. First off, clothes do not fit me the same as they would someone who is of average height. Even pants that are labled "short" are still about 3 inches too long. Shirts are another difficulty....with a 34 D chest, I cannot buy the largest size in the petite department. The shirts in the women's department are usually too bulky in the shoulders and long on my arms.

If I were just a little bit taller I beleive that life would be easier. I could see over any steering wheel, I wouldn't be mistaken for a teenager, and my pants would fit correctly.

AHHH I hate being short!!

Short chicks of the world, unite!

Being almost 5'3" myself, I feel your pain. Buying clothes sucks, being told "ooh, you're little' sucks even harder, having your no yet teenager be as tall as you isn't pleasant....life as a shortie can be no fun sometimes.

Having said that, I kinda dig being short, especially when I was in uniform.  Being small does NOT mean you're not powerful, hehehehe.....as a few people found out!

Don't beat yourself up about it. A lot of us guys like shorter women.

Well...I would share your pain but topping out around 6'1'' (and I'm only 17...so I may grow around 3-5 more inches) I don't think I can sympathize. Though I do respect the vertically challenged, and I help them get things off of the top shelves in stores

My much better half "claims" to be 5 ft 4, I think more like 5, 2 but I said this to say short gals got it all, they can be with tall men and short men too. where as a tall woman looks silly dating a small man.

where as a tall woman looks silly dating a small man.

Tom Cruise and...well, pretty much anyone demonstrate that point pretty well.

I think that he should have come and got me before I got married.  I'd have made him look positively statuesque!

your beauty, talent, grace and overall outlook would be wasted on a "tom cruise" where as it would NOT be lost on um for instance a Jew of turkish desent. giggle. if he was single that is...
