University of Michican Scientists have developed a new type of fiber reinforced flexible concrete which is supposedly 500 times more resistant to cracking and lighter in weight than traditional concrete making it ideal for road construction.

Maybe we will eventually see roads that actually last longer than the time it takes to build them?

From the article, I understand how it might help with some road issues. Especially the bridge example they gave. But I'm unclear as to its applicability on your average road vs. a little thing I've heard some call ice.

Easy Nakor. Being more flexible it is less likely to be fractured by ice expansion than the more rigid standard concrete. While I doubt the stuff is perfect (what is?) at least it's a step in the right direction.
