First bud!

I'm all a flutter.....I have a rose that's fixing to bloom!

I've gone rose crazy and have 13 or so bushes in the yard.  I have Tea roses and climbers, red ones yellow ones, coral ones, pink ones....I even have a purple striped one!

Most of them have buds developing, but this one is the first to let me see the color of it's petals.

Yes, it's yellow. And yes, it's just a rose......but it's the first rose in the garden of our new house.

That makes me happy.

A rose by any other name is......a pampered, fertilized, thorny blooming weed.

Cool, is nice to see the signs of spring.

Awwm thank you Danny! It does make me very happy. I sit in my yard and look at the plants growing and blooming....and I wish that D was here to see it with me.

I hope so too.  Almost all of my bushes have at least one flower bud forming on them...the one in the pciture has another bud on it that will probably be in bloom by next weekend.  it's going to be really, really pretty come July or August, Guy.  I love roses too, to the exclusion of almost all other flowers (except for fuschias and chinese lanters)...that's why I planted so many of them!!!

A flower! You're talkin' about a flower...

Hehehe.....I was waiting for someone to make that comment, Shovel.....and for some reason it doesn't surprise me that you were the one to say it!

Cool, I wish you luck. My favorite kind of rose? The kind that needs little more than the occasional pruning, otherwise they're a pain in the butt. I like morning glories, they're every bit as pretty, and need very little care. Also, petunias. And begonias. And jonquils. And hyacinth, sunflowers, impatiens, bougenvilla, lobelia, nasturtium, geraniums, pansies, rosemary, onions, tomatoes, poinsettas, four o'clocks, pumpkins, moonflower, wisteria, mandevilla..........ya get the idea..

Well, for me it is Orchids and Roses!  But then my Wife has her own ideas!

Thanks for the early smell of spring!  We are just getting into it here!

I think that my favorites are 'Peace' which is a beautiful pale yellow with a pink tinge to it, and 'Heaven On Earth'...it's a gorgeous apricot color and smells fantastic.

hehe...yeah, I get the idea.  In my seedling tray right now I have columbines, impatiens, chinese lanterns, violas, cottage pinks and sweet peas....but I still adore roses and fuschias!

What kind of ideas does she have..? Or should I be afraid to ask?!
