Valve and VU Games Settle

<FONT face=Arial color=#000000 size=2>Valve and VU Games have finally settled their longstanding lawsuit, filed in 2002, over their publishing agreement. According to the settlement that was made out of court, VU Games will cease publishing boxed versions of Valve's Games, including Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and Counter-Strike: Source, effective August 31, 2005. <BR><BR>Also, VU Games will notify distributors and cyber cafes that were licensed by VU Games that only Valve is authorized to distribute those games and offer licenses. This is a big win for Valve and all those developers out there who feel cheated by their publishers.<BR><BR><A href="http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050429/laf022.html?.v=8" target=new>Yahoo News</A></FONT>

I said the exact same thing when I read the report. Well, it likely means that more Steam is on the way and - worse case - all the cyber-cafes will have to pay for Valve's games again at higher rates and with more DRM then they could ever dream of.
