Basic help needed

Hey all, I'm new to this skinning thing (applied my first skin just yesterday!) and I have a question which I'm sure is going to sound rather lame for many of you.....

I downloaded and installed 'window blinds' so I could mess around with my XP skins. After applying a few different skins and getting a feel for the various looks I was curious as to how I go back to my normal XP theme. i tried selecting the default skin but that didn;t bring me back to XP, it was the old skool Windows 2000 look. I tried exiting Window blinds to see if XP would revert back to normal but again it goes back to the old skool Windows 2000 look.

During the installation process, Window Blinds presented a message about needing to turn some feature off (I cannot rememeber what it was) which I OK'd, not sure if this has anything to do with it but if anyone knows how I go about re-verting back to the normal XP theme (ie green start button and all) then any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Ya know something weird? I never thought about going back. I don't really know. Damn I feel stupid...sure you'll get an answer soon

now that I'm into the skinning scene I've found of plenty of layouts better then the orignal XP theme so I don't think 'll be going back either, but I figure I'd still like to know how to get back to it, might need to restore the original XP look if I sell my computer or something. thanks for the feedbacl though Boss019

It may have turned off your themes service.

RightClick on 'My Computer'->Manage->Services and Applications->Services(->Standard Tab - optional)

Scroll till you see 'Themes' and see what its Status is ('Started' or blank=stopped). Rightclick it to start it again. If you want it to start all the time, then you'll have to change the 'Startup Type' setting in it's properties.

I'm all sorted thanks people, yeah simply had to re-select the XP theme in display properties. i knew it was going to be something simple amd lame, thanks for the help, I appreciate it!
